Good Afternoon,

The ADA published a report in 2017 stating the average dentist is 50 years old. If 50 is the average, that means many are in their 60's and 70's. Based on this, we’re likely to see a large number of dentists looking for an exit strategy in the next 5 years.

When you couple this with other market factors – an influx of DSOs, changing buyer profiles, fluctuations in practice values, etc. – I’m finding most dentists have more questions than answers when it comes to planning their own transition strategy.
  • What is my practice worth?
  • Should I add an associate? Can I afford one?
  • Should I sell to a DSO?
  • How do I find the right buyer for my practice (especially if I don’t want to sell to a DSO)?
  • I’d like to practice another 3-5 years, what should I be doing now to prepare?
  • How well is my practice positioned compared to others on the market?
  • I own the real estate, who can help me with that?
  • Do I sell now to get maximum value or should I wait another year or two?
  • I have a partner who’s not ready to retire and doesn’t want to buy me out…what do I do?
  • ...and many more!

Including the most critical one!

Who can I trust to help me through this process?

These are all common and extremely valid questions.

ddsmatch can help you find the answers.

We’ve helped many dentists successfully transition their practice using a professional, confidential, and transparent approach – The Trusted Transition Process.
