OPTIMISM?                                                                                                                                               
Optimism is a mental attitude reflecting a belief or hope that the outcome of some specific endeavor, or outcomes in general, will be positive, favorable, and desirable. 
Overwhelmed with reopening your dental office, or... with preparing to reopen. I wanted to send a note out to share some optimistic news about what I have been seeing and hearing in preparation for what is ahead.

• Positive Patient News. In speaking to my contacts in the Southeastern US, (where they have been seeing patients for weeks now), they comment that offices have been decently busy, and patients truly appreciate being able to get care again. They also noted that with many asepsis protocols already in place in dental offices prior to recent events, the added protocols haven't been a big topic of conversation with patients. 
• Recent events have stimulated more buyers to want to move into dental practice ownership. I have been receiving more inquiries and calls from dentists who want to own a dental practice and be their own boss. From long term associates to people out of school for a year or less - recent events seem to have spurned more of an "ownership" mentality. 
• Dental practice owners are moving up their transition plans to enjoy the harvest.  In recent weeks, I have had calls with dentists who may have only been casually considering a future practice sale, yet are now understandably thinking about moving up their timetables.  Dentists worked hard in school and as a business owner to care for patients. With more new buyers stepping up, they are looking to now transition their practice and patients to the right "new owner" match to carry on the patient care..... while ensuring that they have the time to enjoy the fruits from all of their labor in the next phase of their lives. 
• Funding options for buyers will remain favorable in post-pandemic recovery lending programs - and rates are very good at this time making this transition easier. It is important to note that dental practices are considered a low financial risk for lenders.
